Performances without an apparatus are not allowed at world class competitions. In group performances, either one object is used (for example, five balls, five pairs of clubs, five hoops), or two types of objects are used simultaneously (for example, hoops and clubs, ribbons and balls, jump ropes and balls). The winners are determined in the all-around and in individual events.
Rhythmic gymnastics is an Olympic sport, incredibly elegant and graceful. On the mat, gymnasts not only show a set of elements, but also convey the emotional color of the composition and the mood of the musical accompaniment.

Aesthetic gymnastics is a team sport; it does not use ribbons, balls and hoops, as in rhythmic gymnastics. The number of gymnasts in each team depends on the age category (groups of six to ten gymnasts). The team must be a single organism - every look, every sigh, every barely noticeable movement of the little finger. As a result of training, the performance of each element is honed, and absolute unity with the music is achieved.
